| Irazu Volcano, Orosi Valley And Lancaster Gardens |
|
|
We take the Panamerican Highway to the South, to start ascending the giant Iztarú. The winding road travels through fertile lands cultivated with vegetables of all kinds, as we observe a lovely panoramic view. At the top of the volcano can observe the main craters and on a clear day you could spot the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. As we descend to the city of Cartago, stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels, who according to religious custom is a place of pilgrimage for many believers. After visiting the Basilica de los Angeles in Cartago city, we moved to the Lankester Gardens, a research center at the University of Costa Rica that protects more than 800 species of orchids and bromeliads and countless other plants. We will continue to the Valley of Orosi where creation overflows in unparallel beauty. You can visit one of the few remaining colonial churches and we will stop for lunch at a restaurant in the area. On our tour you can observe the rustic "House of the Dreamer", an example of Costa Rican art. Recommendations: Hat, jacket, shoes, insect repellent, binoculars and camera. |
